I’ve recently discovered this hole in the wall restaurant in my neighborhood. Sure I’ve passed by this street countless of times but it wasn’t until my co-parent celebrated her birthday lunch that I was able to try this eat-all-you-can Korean restaurant called Sodam.
Sodam is a Korean Grill Buffet Restaurant with Shabu-Shabu, unlimited grill of pork and beef.
It’s actually my first time to dine at a Korean buffet restaurant, so I honestly didn’t know what to expect aside from the unlimited grilled pork and beef.
Good timing as we went to the restaurant the moment it opened and my co-parent was able to secure a reservation prior to our lunch date.
Sorry, I didn’t bring my camera with me then so I used my phone lang to take photos.
Banchan (side dishes) to choose from. I love Korean food even though I don’t really know the names of each dish. I like savoury and spicy food so the side dishes at Sodam for me were a hit. So much so that I literally tried everything that’s on the buffet spread. 😀
Spicy tofu! I sometimes make this at home when I’m craving for it. I just use Lee Kum Kee’s Spicy Tofu sauce.
Stir-fried pork.
Beef.
Squid.
Fried rice.
A Korean food trip wouldn’t be complete without Japchae.
Fried Calamari, Korean Pancakes, Kim Chi, Baby Potatoes are just some of the side dishes available.
Beef Stew. I love Sodam’s beef stew. It was flavourful (it leans towards the sweet side) and the beef is super tender. I had two servings ‘coz it was that good.
They also have a DIY Bibimbop station.
Serving of beef and pork strips are handed out together. Do take note that you can’t just ask for a second serving of pork or beef alone as they go hand in hand. So if you’re done with pork and want another round, expect that the server will also give you another round of beef and vice versa.
Round 1 of 5234. Heehee.
I’ve satisfied my Korean food cravings at Sodam but I don’t think I can bring my kids here as the place can get really packed during lunch, even more during dinner. Lucky for me, it’s my neighbourhood Korean restaurant so I can go here for a quick and filling meal.
If you’re not in the mood to go all out on the buffet, you can go for their a la carte dishes.
The menu isn’t extensive but what really got me was the price and taste. If you’re on whim for a cheap, satisfying yet delicious Korean food then Sodam is the place to go. It’s best to call for reservation and if you’re going with a big group, best to carpool as parking is limited.
Sodam Buffet is at P299 for lunch on weekdays and P399 for dinner on weekdays, weekends and holidays. P199 for children below 4 feet.
