Current workout accessories: foam roller, jump rope, Fitbit Charge HR and Aftershokz Bluez 2S Headphones
Last weekend, Mr. JG & I did a quick workout together. He went ahead and I followed shortly since I had to fix up pa. The moment I entered the gym, he was mocking me ‘coz I was decked with accessories, all out japorms talaga. I told him that having the right accessories keeps me motivated to workout even more. 😉
My latest listening device is the Aftershokz Bluez 2S Wireless Bone Conduction Headphones
You can say I was pretty open to try it because I was very intrigued with its design.
AfterShokz BlueZ 2S comes in 4 colors: green metallic, red, neon and black
First time to try an open ear design. I was excited because I’ve had my fair share of in-ear headphone mishaps. I don’t know if it’s just me but it always falls down especially when I run on the treadmill.
Sleek design comes with discreet buttons.
This bluetooth wireless headphone looks like a headband, according to my daughter.
Lil’ Ms. JG: How is it a headphone? I can’t find the earbuds?
Me: It doesn’t have earbuds but it still lets you enjoy your favorite tunes, just slide it right beside your ear.
Lil’ Ms. JG: Cool!
Me: Cool talaga!
Bone conduction isn’t something we invented, but we’ve mastered the concept; and combined with a suite of convenient features to keep you connected to your music and calls on the road, at work and everything in between.
I never thought I’d appreciate hearing my surroundings as much as I did when I started working out at home. I usually workout alone and I like that it gives me a solid hour of me-time. But when I’m that isolated with my surroundings, I feel a tad bit paranoid that I cannot hear what’s going on around me. I used to like the idea, especially when I used to workout at a club gym where there are a lot of people and a few distractions. But now that I workout at home, I like that I still have situational awareness which Aftershokz Bluez 2S gives.
Initially, it feels weird ‘coz of I’m used to the habit of putting on ear plugs. It takes a little getting used to and eventually, I got the hang of it. Now I like it more than in-ear headphones ‘coz it feels liberating to not have anything inside or covering my ears.
I like AfterShokz BlueZ 2S because…
… I can clearly hear my favorite tunes while letting me be aware of my surroundings.
… it has noise canceling mics. Though I can still hear my surroundings, it does however
…. it stays in place. Surprisingly, the band headphones holds in place no matter how active I am.
… battery life is long. When I initially used it, I didn’t charge it because it still has about 1/3 of power. I used it twice on two separate gym sessions lasting a total of 2 hours. Quite impressive.
… I can answer calls with a push of a button located on the left side of the headphone.
… it’s sweat resistant. Need I say more?
Though it’s not compact nor foldable (which I think is the only down side), overall I like Aftershokz BlueZ 2S–its features and design make for a good headphone. It’s definitely for people who lead an active lifestyle.
AfterShokz BlueZ 2S retails for Php 4,990 and is available at ROX BGC, Astroplus (MOA & SM Megamall) and Techonoholics.
