I couldn’t think much of a better title for this outfit. Akshuli, I was thinking “school girl” but then I already did an OOTD post of that when I was pregnant. So, I settled for “pa-preppy” because this post really reminds me of prep girl’s uniform sans the necktie and shoes. Back when I was in school, I’ve always observed that there’s always a school uniform issue, particularly with the skirt length. Schools always impose a policy where students should wear skirts just above or below the knee. While most students would prefer having short skirts like that of prep school uniforms. Ako, kebs lang! Hahaha.
Two things come to mind when I hear the word preppy: stripes and full mini skirts.Well, at least for me. So here’s an outfit I came up with wearing these two things that I like so much.
I love this outfit because I scored the skirt for only Php 400, I got it during the Buy 1 Take 1 End of Season Sale. Such a steal as its a stunning piece that can put the chic in your look. This was the outfit I wore during the Canmake Cosmetics SS’ 14 Collection launch.
Finding the right balance is the key when it comes to wearing skirts or shorts. Because skimpy isn’t really sexy, make sure to leave an air of mystery by wearing an outfit that focuses on a certain area of your body, but at the same time still show your personal style. In my case, I really like to wear skirts so I had to balance my look by wearing a more demure (demure talaga?!) top.
Love this skirt talaga! I got a few compliments too when I wore this. Yun lang, quite a challenge to wash because I couldn’t just throw it in the washer. I have to hand wash it because of the faux leather trims.
Stripe shirts can be both flattering and unflattering. The trick is you have to find the perfect cut and pattern. Always opt for horizontal stripes more than vertical stripes. Only a few can pull off the latter as it really can make you look twice as big. For horizontal stripes, you also have to consider the color. The safest would be the classic black and white stripes for you can easily pair it with almost anything- shorts, skirts, jeans.
I think this is the first OOTD post I did wherein I deliberately tied my hair, all brushed up. According to my personal stylist Kelly, (of the Traveling Boots) yes pinanindigan ko na talaga na my stylist ako! Hahaha. Lakas maka-celebrity! Anyway, he said it suits me as it emphasizes my small face even more. Well, di ko masyado feel mag brushed up pony tail nor bun ever because I have baby bangs, isn’t it obvious?! Later did I realize after reviewing the photos na keri naman pala. Sige na, push na lang, maiba naman!
If you really want to achieve the school girl, preppy look, pair this outfit with black pumps or Mary Janes.
