For our lil’ Mr. GJG’s first birthday, we originally wanted a simple birthday. But we eventually decided to throw a party since we’re thinking this is the last first birthday we’ll celebrate, because we’re okay with having two kids na! For the next years of our kids’ lives, we’re planning on keeping it simple and if possible, travel instead.
We chose Active Fun in Bonifacio Global City for our gwapito’s birthday party venue. We like it because their function rooms have a consumable rate with inclusive use of sound system and air conditioner.
It’s a Sesame Street party! As much as I wanted a non-character theme for my son’s birthday like what I did with Gabbie’s 1st birthday, we sticked with Elmo and the gang because they’re Juro’s favorite characters. He gets really giddy and happy whenever he watches Elmo’s World or even play with his set of Sesame Street toys. We gave in. It was a fun-filled birthday celebrated with our friends and family at Sesame Street!
This wasn’t the backdrop that I wanted, well not exactly what I wanted but since it was sourced from Active Fun’s supplier and we only saw the actual backdrop on the day of the party, eh deadmabelles na!
The bright colors of red, blue, yellow and green really reflected the colors of Sesame Street.
We choose two adjacent function rooms of Active Fun. With this set up, it can seat up to 120 people max.
I honestly don’t think centerpiece matters for children’s parties. Sure a pretty one is always a plus factor but more than the beauty it adds to the party’s look, I’m more keen on the functionality. I opted to have a simple centerpiece by having cut outs of the four Sesame Street characters that some kids even played with and brought home.
I was also considering putting a candy buffet but since the venue had limited space, I instead put a variety of snacks that guests can munch on while waiting for the buffet to open. It’s practical plus cute don’t you think? 🙂
To add more cuteness, I used paper straw instead of the usual plastic straw. Kids loved that they get to choose what color and design of they used. Heehee.
With all the side entertainments and booths available, how do you know what to get? Simple. Find something that’s unique and functional. Booths Republic have booths that serves just that.
Instaprint let’s you personalize your souvenirs for your guests. You can have a personalized keychain that doubles as a mirror and a keychain that doubles as a bottle opener.
Craft Camp is a booth that let’s your small guests enjoy and unleash their creative side.
Create and design your own mask is one of the things Craft Camp booth offers.
Photo Balloon is a photo booth with a twist. Instead of printing on a usual photo paper, your photo is printed on a balloon. The inflation of the balloon can last from six months to a year. It’s re-flatable and is a cute way in displaying your photo.
Thank you so much Sarah and Lala of Booths Republic for being part of my Juro’s first birthday! The booths were a hit amongst the guest, both kids and kids at heart!
A kiddie party wouldn’t be complete without ice cream don’t you think? Our friends from Nestle provided Juro’s first birthday ice cream treats. Did you know that you can have an ice cream party package in just a few easy steps? I’ll write a more detailed step by step post about it.
My Gabbie enjoyed her Nestle treat.
The Dychiaos: Tin, Berry & Xavi enjoying their Nestle ice creams.
I obviously enjoyed it too! 🙂
Another crucial part of a party is finding the right entertainer and host. So we got our favorite entertainer, Ruther and his team to transform us to the magical land of Sesame Street.
Ruther is a ventriloquist and a magician. If you find that he looks familiar, that’s because he joined the first season of Pilipinas Got Talent where he first showcased his puppet Titoy.
The kids enjoyed watching him perform. Even the adults had fun too!
Because it’s my birthday, best in participation na naman ako! Hahaha.
Titoy the puppet had fun at Juro’s party.
And my happy, bubbly gwapito was all smiles the entire time.
He obviously isn’t camera shy no? 😉
Juro’s OOTD: White long sleeves; GAP, Gray vest; SM Kids Fashion, Green pants; Gingersnaps, Checkered bow tie; Baby Jane (available at Nurture Nook), Birkenstock like sandals; GAP.
So cute that the kids were very participative. Even my shy pretty Gabbie was so game!
As for the giveaway, we had these Sesame Street stools made. I find that its more practical and useful for kids.
The Gos.
My happy birthday boy, clapping as we sing his birthday song.
One of the most praised element in our Sesame Street party was this amazingly beautiful Sesame Street cake of Juro. Check out the details on the cake! Amazeballs!
A peek at the Sesame Street cake of Juro.
Here’s my equally cute cake! So me and so my blog no? Thank you Cat of Tazzy Cake for the surprise design! I absolutely adore that you choose my blog’s new look. Cat and Tazzy Cakes deserve another post with all the great looking and tasting cakes she’s made for me and for my friends. Heehee 🙂
Thank you to everyone who took time to celebrate with us on our special day! We are beyond blessed to have you in our lives! 🙂
And because sharing is caring, I’m sharing with you all the suppliers we had for our Sesame Street Party. Feel free to contact them and tell them that you learned about them through me. 🙂

Hi Ericka!
The supplier for the backdrop was from Active Fun. They didn’t disclose the name of their supplier kasi. But I think most party designers have this Sesame Street backdrop. 🙂

How do I get this backdrop for my child first birthday party
Jackie Go says
Hi Phaniare, the backdrop is from a supplier of Active Fun. Perhaps you can search for birthday decor supplies online as Sesame Street backdrop is not hard to find. I hope this helps!
