Here’s a look at our humble abode adorned with all things Christmas! The good news is that these decors are affordable nothing over 500 pesos each. Yes you know me, I love bargains!
Confession: It’s been a year since we moved to our place and we’re still in the process of finalizing the look of our apartment. Yes, we still want to install a lot of things before finally calling it “officially finished”. It’s really hard to semi-renovate when there’s kids around especially that we’re an asthmatic family. So last Christmas, we didn’t really bother decorating and putting up a tree because we were still settling in and we were away for the holidays then.
But this time around it’s different, having two kids can really take your time but it can also make you realize that Christmas is more beautiful and meaningful because of them. So this time around we made an effort to put more than one decor and I let lil’ Ms. GJG decorate our Christmas tree. Take a look.
Our 4 feet white Christmas tree from National Bookstore only 400 php.
These adorable decors are also from National Bookstore all at 120+ php each. The gold balls are at 160+ php for a dozen.
Our Christmas angel topper we got from lil’ Ms. GJG’s school bazaar. The other junior class made this our of strings and tin foil wrappers, so cute!
I was looking for small stockings since our tree is only 4 feet. Glad I spotted these stockings from Unimart. The big ones at 60+ php while the small ones are at 20+ php each. The reindeer one’s mine, The clown one’s for Mr. GJG, the laced one is for lil’ Ms. GJG and the checkered one is for lil’ Mr. GJG 😀
Our centerpiece for our living room is this Santa candle holder and native balls which I got from Kultura Filipino. The Santa costs 300+ php while the balls cost 50 php each.
The hallway of our apartment has a touch of Christmas too. Our first Christmas decor is this cutesy little tree which we bought four years ago at SM Department store I think this was at 100+ php.
Our tree before there the gifts.
We’re using LED lights for our tree because its more energy efficient and safer than the regular lights.
Our first Christ,as tree. Most of the ornaments are gone now because lil’ Ms. GJG played with it.
Our dinning area’s centerpiece- Holly Berry & Mistletoe scented candles (we’ve had these for four years now), cherries and yellow deco stones.
These cute Christmas tin cans are my all time favorite! I got these during the SM Home World sale for under 100 php each. I love using it during the holidays. We’d stuff goodies inside such as chocolates, cookies and candies too.
These Christmas themed sun catchers were made by lil’ Ms. GJG and her class. I bought these during their school’s Christmas bazaar, so cute!
Lastly, this reindeer stocking will greet our visitors as we welcome them to our home. I also got this at National bookstore under 150 php.
One of my concerns when buying decors and other household items that I know I can only use on certain occasion is the storage. As you all know condo-living can be harsh when it comes to space thus, I have limited my spending when it comes to home items, toys and clothes for my kids as well as my personal things. In a good way, I get to save money, appreciate and thoroughly make use of what we have. Maybe someday when we get to move to a bigger house, I can finally put up an 8 feet tall Christmas tree. For now, I’m loving our little cozy place called home. 😉
Noche Buena tonight! Hope you’re spending a lovely time with the people you love. Happy Holidays! 🙂
