Hi, I’m Jackie Go and self-confessed bread monster!
If there’s one thing that’s staple in our kitchen (aside from banana & apple) it’s bread. We always have our weekly ration & I make sure we never run out of it at home. My lil’ JGs love it as much as I do. In fact, they like having it for breakfast & snack in school. So when a bakery that offers a wide variety of freshly baked pastries & cakes invited me to check out their latest branch, I didn’t think twice and off I went to One Legaspi Park Condominium for Boulangerie 22.
Classic artisan method meets state of the art baking ̶ Boulangerie 22 is a fusion of traditional principles with a modern twist, bringing forth melt in your mouth breads and pastries, with a commissary that’s first of its kind here in the Philippines.
This French inspired bakery offers breads and cakes crafted and whipped up to perfection by talented, passionate bakers and state-of-the-art baking machines. Boulangerie 22 boasts in merging classical and modern methods of baking to produce delicious, mouth-watering bread offerings and cakes from scratch.
Thank you Kervin Luy for my touristy photo with a baguette! Hahaha!
#Baguettes, who us?! Haha! They aren’t just for display, they’re freshly baked baguettes which for some reason, Shari of The Misty Mom & I were drawn into. Heehee.
The no-fuss bread stands are imported from Korea, according to Andrea Amado of AGC (Amado Group Corporation) the company behind Boulangerie 22. The overall look of the bakery reminds me much of subways and quaint cafe stores in Europe.
They have a variety of pastries you can choose from whether you want sweet or savoury, Boulangerie 22 has it for you.
OMG, you must try their croissant! It’s so flaky good, you’re bound to eat more than one!
The intimate launch prompted us guests to try all the bread and pastries we can. So here’s our (Shari, Rowena, & I) table filled with Boulangerie 22 goodies.
Sabi sa inyo bread monster ako eh. 😀
They also have a selection of drinks – coffee, tea, & fruit drinks. I got Charlie’s Mango Orange drink & it was gooooood.
Boulangerie 22 pride itself with its must-try sourdough.
Born all the way in France, over 6 generations have kept the signature sourdough recipe that is now available for Filipinos. Boulangerie 22 has Sourdough Baguette, Sourdough Raisin Walnut Rye Bread, Pain de Campagne, and Sourdough Pizza.
First time I’ve tried sourdough pizza (or not?!) and I had this big slice all for myself. I did feel guilty downing this in minutes though I learned it has a nutritious benefit naman – the lactic acids in the sourdough make vitamins and minerals in the flour more available in the body, making it easier and more pleasant to digest. It is also perfect for people who maintain low sugar intake, not to mention, an excellent source of fuel for good bacteria and prebiotics for the body. Ayun naman pala, nothing to be guilty about. I think I need another slice now. Heehee.
Meet the Financier. Yes, they look like gold bars, thus they’re named as such. If you’re all something light yet flavourful to compliment your cup of joe, get a financier. Yes, I mean get both the person (financing your cup of joe) and the pastry. Hahaha! 😉
My lil’ JGs favorite is anything with floss & Boulangerie 22’s cheese floss didn’t disappoint.
While I on the other hand, couldn’t resist Boulangerie 22’s cookies. Their chocolate macadamia cookie reminds me much of that famous coffeeshop’s but better because it’s a bit crunchy and has more macadamia & chocolate bits. Yum!
Another good one – Chocolate Walnut Cookies. Nom nom nom!
Aside from their assorted pastries and bread, they also have character cakes such as Lovely Teddy, a charming chocolate cake made with chocolate chiffon in chocolate buttercream covered in chocolate ganache; and Mr. Piggy, a classic cake made with vanilla chiffon and fresh strawberry buttercream covered in strawberry chocolate ganache. Each cake is at Php 699.
My favorite cake is Boulangerie 22 carrot cake (which I assume is the Bunny!) I am not a fan of carrot cake but Boulangerie 22 converted me into one. Its carrot cake is dense and full of flavor! Another must try!
Oh you know, I’m just miming my business. Heehee.
Congratulations AGC for opening another Boulangerie 22! I hope you can open one in my city so I can hoard your financiers, choco macadamia cookie, mini chocolate croissants and so much more! 😀
