Summer is mainly anticipated here in the Philippines because it’s the ultimate vacation break aside from Christmas. It’s when the kids take a break from school, where Holy Week falls on and where the sun is out shinning so bright there’s plenty of reason to do road trips, food trips or even trips to the mall.
For me, I can say that there are three summer essentials that we must take into consideration. Allow me to show you what I mean by sharing you our quick summer getaway over the weekend.
1. Beach or swimming pool.
No summer is ever complete without hitting the beach or even a pool. Whether it’s in the city, the province or even just in your condo’s pool, summer wouldn’t be complete without a splash of water. You can even set up a portable pool at your backyard to avoid the hassle of leaving the comfort of your own home.
For our quick weekend getaway we went to Pico De Loro in Nasugbu, Batangas.
After assessing the bed, what do kids like doing? Jump on it of course!

Such a lovely view.
2. Skin protection: sun screen, moisturizer, lotion and of course a nice swimsuit to match.
l-r: Olay Total Effects w/ SPF 15, Banana Boat Sunscreen Lotion w/ SPF 50, Coppertone Water Babies Sunscreen Lotion w/ SPF 50, Nivea Sun Cooling After Sun Spray, Nivea Express Hydration Lotion, Nivea Sun Protection Lip Balm.
There are tons of skin products to choose from but these are some of my favorites. I wasn’t able to buy a tanning oil though but at least I’ve got a sun screen lotion and an cooling spray to freshen up my skin after being hours under the sun.
Lounging by the beach wouldn’t be complete without a good read, water to keep me hydrated and of course my phone to keep updated with what’s happening on my social sites.
3. Lastly, the best summer essential one must not forget is to spend time with family and friends.
Summer now is more fun because of Gabbie.
Dad teaching Gabbie how to swim.
Mom & Gabbie’s turn to swim.
For Life friends: The Hungs, The De Leons & The Gos.

More than the feeling of relaxation and being stress-free, summer and vacationing is all about spending time with your loved ones. Again thank you to our friends Carlo & Rach for arranging our quick weekend getaway and also for Pitoy & Haze for spending time with us.
So what’s your summer essentials?
P.S. Happy Hump Day!
