My Addiction To Being Hairless

As I said on my previous post about my Wink Laser & Wax experience, I am one hairy girl. Hahaha. All I ever wished for when I was in my teens was that my underarms, arms, upper lip and legs become hair-free. Back then, laser hair removal costs a fortune. The demand of us girls wanting to be hair-free prompted clinics to offer “lifetime laser hair-removal” that can break our bank accounts. Thankfully, today there’s Wink Wax and Laser Studio that offers waxing and laser treatments at an affordable price.

I super love going to Wink, even though it’s far from where I live. Apart from the lovely interior and cozy feel of the place, I really come back because of the excellent service they offer. If you’ve read my previous post, you’ll be glad to know that Wink is a haven for neat freaks! Clean and good smelling laser and wax salons are hard to find but with Wink, you’ll fall in love with how pretty it looks and of course how good it smells.

I always appreciate the little things. I think its what makes me go back and rave about a certain place or service.

As of present I am on my third Diode laser session for my underarms and I am super happy with the result. Surprisingly, in just three sessions there’s minimal fine hair left. I’ve actually tried IPL a year before and it has helped lessened my underarm hair but I have to say, Diode’s way better. I’ll write a full post comparing these two next time. For now, I’d just like to confess that I’m addicted to being hairless heehee.

Meet my technician, Lyn. I swear she’s super galing and so efficient. In between our chika session, she really knows how to make me feel comfortable especially since I have low tolerance for pain. I would whine at how painful it is whenever we do Brazilian wax yet she would assure me that we’re halfway done and that I’m doing a good job. I swear, the pulling pain makes me consider having a Brazilian laser instead! Nonetheless, I only trust Wink, particularly Lyn to do my Brazilian mainly because she’s so good in removing hair in just a few pulls, we’re always done in about 30 minutes.

This is me channelling Carrie Bradshaw whenever I have a Brazilian. Eeeep!

Guys, try nyo bilang masakit talaga sya! I keep telling Lyn that having a wax down there is more painful than my Caesarian incision!

Actually, if you’re regularly doing waxing treatments, it’s better to save up and have diode laser instead. The effects are more permanent and definitely less painful. I am really considering having my legs and upper hair lip lasered and I probably will after I finished my underarm hair laser treatment.

If you plan on doing laser for the first time I suggest wait for the hair to grow and don’t shave the area for at least a week so that the technician can fully asses the hair. Also, on the day of your treatment, don’t put any lotion on your legs nor arms, deodorant on your underarm or make up on your face, whichever of these areas you plan to have lasered. That way, there’s less chance of having any skin irritation although, they will still prep you up before your treatment at least it’s safe to say you’ve come prepared. 😉 Apart from these tips, remember that it is also important to have a good relationship with your technician. Being comfortable with her and building a good relationship can make your waxing or laser treatment even better.

Ask Wink about their first-timer laser hair removal rates when you visit. You can also inquire about their laser packages that lets you save a few hundreds, which by the way you can pay in installment via credit card. Yes, enabler talaga ako! Hahaha.

It has been a habit of mine to have my unwanted hair waxed every month, hopefully when I’ve saved enough money I’ll have them lasered, ah the concerns of a hairy person hahaha. Yung totoo, I want to have my whole body lasered tuloy except my head that is! Haha. I feel more confident, somewhat sexier knowing I’m flawless in the sense that I’m hair-free in areas that should be. I hope by the time lil’ Ms. GJG is in her teens, Wink will still be around as I know this’ll be one of her concerns in the future.
