Chinese cuisine has become a staple when it comes to dinning out with my family. So the search for an authentic Chinese restaurant is put to a halt ever since Lugang Cafe opened in our area. We’ve been frequenting this restaurant since it opened its doors to public. The ambiance definitely spells elegance and we have the Bellagio Group of Restaurants to thank for bringing in this cafe that has caught the hearts and tummies of Taiwanese cuisine lovers in Manila.

What I like about Lugang is that they consider kids/children as their clients too. High chairs and dinning ware are provided making it easier for parents and kids to dine in harmony.

Pineapple Rice 280 php
I love how the flavor of pineapple was just right and didn’t overpower the rice. A mix of chewy rice and crunchy cashew nuts is just a perfect combination, you can eat it alone without any viand because of the bursting flavor.
Steamed Angled Loofah With Shrimps Xiao Long Bao 188 php
Lugang’s Xiao Long Bao is divine. The burst of flavor once it pops in your mouth is a gastronomic orgasm.
Taiwanese Stir-Fried Rice Noodles With Pork 245 php
Nothing much special about their stir-fried noodles, it was good.
Three Cup Chicken 290 php
One of Lugang’s house specialty is indeed delicious. Although the chicken isn’t completely boneless which I find inconvenient, chewing little pieces of soft bones, still the dish was sumptuous.
Fried Prawns with Oats 580 php
Their version of Cereal Prawns was okay. I was a bit disappointed with it because I’m a fan of Cereal Prawns and my expectation with this dish was high. There isn’t much flavor to it mainly because the oats itself lack flavor as well as the prawns.

Overall I would recommend Lugang Cafe to friends and family who want authentic Chinese/Taiwanese dish. It’s also a plus that they give importance to children as much as they give to their adult clients, two thumbs up for that.
