Sharing with you all my essentials , my what-to-bring to the hospital. It’s not much but it helps if you’ve got everything you need instead of letting your hubby or family go back and forth your home to pick up items you’ll be needing.
Note that some of the things listed are not needed depending on your preference. Since this is the actual list I made and the items listed are the actual things I packed with me to the hospital.
Documents. Necessary papers and identification cards.
[] admitting papers from your OB-Gyn
[] insurance papers from your health care provider
[] necessary hospital forms
[] birth plan
[] ID such as your driver’s license
Clothes for the baby. Depending if you’re having a normal or caesarian delivery (the latter mean you’ll stay a few more days that equals to few more sets of clothes).
[] tie-side tops & pants
[] receiving blankets
[]bonnets
[]mittens & booties
[] terry cloth towel & burp cloth
[] coming home outfit
[] car seat or baby carrier
Juro’s all white clothes.
Feeding. Whether you plan to breastfeed, express milk or use formula one must be prepared with feeding paraphernalia.
[] breast pump
[] breast pads
[] nursing cover/ scarf/ shawl
[] nipple shield
[] nipple cream
[] feeding bottles
[] pacifier
Armed & a quite ready to breastfeed.
Essentials For Mommy. Just because we’ll be in our hospital gown doesn’t mean we don’t need to bring anything for ourselves.
[] button down pyjama/shirt or an easy to slip on dress that you can comfortably breastfeed in
[] coming home clothes
[] sandals or slippers
[] socks (just in case you feel cold)
[] underwear and nursing bra
[] maternity pads
[] basic make up (powder, lip & cheek tint, lip balm)
[] travel size toiletries (brush, shampoo, conditioner & soap, facial wash, feminine wash, toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, perfume)
[] glasses (if you’re wearing one) leave the contact lens at home
Essentials For Daddy. Your husband, partner or someone else who’ll be watching over you should bring the following with him/her.
[] camera (for photos & videos) & its charger
[] his or her mobile phone
[] your mobile phone (of course, you have to hand it to your partner)
[] clothes (if he or she will stay with you throughout your stay in the hospital)
[] snacks (just in case labor takes too long)
[] pen & paper
[] necessary identification
[] a small amount of cash (just in case something needs to be bought)
[] gadgets/things to keep your hubby preoccupied during labor and before delivery (PSP, a book to read, an iPad)
You Can Choose To Bring Or Not To Bring The Following Things With You.
[] hair dryer
[] bath towel
[] robe
[] iPod or music player
[] books
All packed and ready to go.
What Not To Bring In The Hospital With You.
[] jewelry (leave your wedding ring, earrings & watch at home)
[] laptop & other gadgets you often use (okay, I was somewhat thinking of packing mine but decided not to! :p )
[] other valuables
