Last Saturday, I woke up to the news on my Twitter timeline about the devastating flash flood that had deeply affected the people in Mindanao. Some were out partying, some were still at work, while others like me and my family were comfortably asleep at 2 am when the calamity happened. Sadness filled my heart upon learning this tragic news that weekend morning, it was like Typhoon Ondoy all over again.
It is innate in us Filipinos to help our countrymen especially in times of need. Thanks to social media, dissemination of information is a lot easier and sending help without even leaving your home is possible. I believe there’s a reason for everything and for someone who hasn’t experience what our brothers and sisters in Mindanao are going through right now, the only way I can do is to help. After all, the season of Christmas is all about giving and loving without expecting anything in return.
So today, I took the chance to clean out our closet.
And because I was able to sell some of my shoes on Ebay, I was able to donate via Gcash.
A little help goes a long way, will update this post once I’ve dropped off the goods at the nearest LBC branch.
For now, here are links to various websites that you may find very useful to help the victims of Sendong. These are some of the sites I’ve seen over my Facebook and Twitter timeline.
