As a Trusted Mom, I love getting to know the latest products from Philips Avent. Imagine my delight when I saw this display of feeding sets during the SoMoms Better Me session with Coach Pia.
Eeeep! I actually want to take these all home with me. Is it just me or are moms sort-of-hoarders in general? Heehee. Aminin, one set isn’t enough for our children. We always want to have options where we can mix and match, try and try until we find the perfect product.
Now the question is, how would you know what products work for you and your child? Honestly, during the time where blogs were non-existent, moms rely on recommendation of their friends, relatives and other moms. But luckily for this generation, you can browse through many mom blogs that give reviews to the latest products in the market. As for me, I like trying things. There’s an air of satisfaction that I always get whenever I try products or services for me, my kids and even for our home.
Choosing the right products for your kids is always crucial. It can break or make your child’s transition in terms of feeding. With lil’ Ms. GJG, it was bottle then straw cup then big girl cup. She didn’t like the hard spout sippy cup at all. We had a hard time transitioning until I finally figured out that all she wanted was a straw cup and a soft spout cup. Keribells. Now that lil’ Mr. GJG is a year and a month old, we’re all set to road test sippy cups and feeding sets. Yay! 🙂
This Philips Avent feeding set looks like a lunchbox (the spoons are separate ha). It has all the things you need, perfect for when you often travel or go out with you lil’ one.
The main compartment has a divider which has two detachable mini compartments where you can store your baby’s meals separately. The tight lid, which also acts as a spoon container, provides vacuum seal that’s perfect to keep food fresh. It also comes with a spoon and a suction mat, that grips the feeding set in it’s place.
I know most babies like to grab whatever their hands can hold, but with this Philips Avent feeding set, that’s close to impossible. Just stick the suction mat on the table and put the main container on top of it and you’re all set.
I like it because it’s handy and portable. Since my lil’ Mr. GJG is a such an active baby, he seldom finishes his food on time especially when we’re dinning out. With this, I can easily store and pack away his left overs and even pack him some snack, thanks to the two separate compartments. Did I mention this is microwavable? Everything is except for the suction mat.
No meal time is compete without a drinking cup! Here’s my gwapito’s no-spill training cup from Philips Avent. Look at how sleek and gwapo it is!
It’s BPA Free, Orthodontist recommended first grown-up drinking cup for 12 months old and above. It’s rim lip activated which makes it spill-proof, preventing waste and mess. Sleek, no spout, no straw design comes with a hygienic lid. It’s easy to clean & assemble plus it can be sterilised too!
No teat, no spout? No problem! That’s what makes it special. It is ergonomically designed to help babies transition from a teat to a cup, from the motion of sucking to sipping. Best of all, it’s spill proof, water or liquid only comes out when the rim gets pushed down. It’s definitely a magic cup! Perfect for babies who like to throw things aka my son, who now finds joy and amusement in throwing everything that he can grab! Even my darling lil’ Ms. GJG loves this cup. I would catch her sneak a sip or two while her Shoti’s not looking. Heehee
I would definitely recommend the Philips Avent feeding set and the natural no-spill magic training cup to all the moms who have babies who are ready for an upgrade.

my daughter is a fuzzy eater but likes to drink milk 3 times a day. it is so difficult to feed her specially if she does not like the food served to her. so we always make something up, like giving her something she likes, or tuning the tv on her fave cartoon show, etc just to convince her to eat. sometimes i am so worried of her being picky with food coz she will lack the nutrients she need. but being patient on feeding her is the key to a succesful meal everyday.. i make her food shaped with her fave characters (bento) to make it more appealing to her.

I still can’t believe that i have a toddler now. it’s been two years since i had her. I am really sad that i wasn’t able to exclusively BF my child. if only i had enough support from my environment and had browsed this site early on.( mrs.gjg’s breastfeeding journey is really inspiring, which made me think to myself, it really is possible. only if i had not stopped) i would’ve fought it out and pushed through the process. But on the verge of losing it, Philips Avent did the job for me. i had been using avent feeding bottles since day 1, and thankfully, it haven’t failed me yet. several bottles and nipple changing later, my child began eating through her Philips avent toddler mealtime set. she loved the bunny design and she’s also love counting the carrots (printed on the bowl) during mealtime.:) i love how its bottom has a non slip protection it’s easier for me to have a stable support during messy mealtimes! Just recently, my baby starts nibbling on her bottle’s nipples. we have an average of 2-3 nipple changes in a week! so i decided to buy her sippy cups instead. i was so torn between the cute pink, orange or the green one so i bought her three! only to find out that she didn’t like the hard spout type. to my demise, we went back to the bottles and the nipple changes. Like what Ms. Jackie Go mentioned, it’s a process of trial and error. and because i only want the best for my child, i’d still use avent products during these transitions. Luckily i stumbled to this post. i want to try this no-spill training cup. I want to win this for my baby. I was convinced by Ms. Jackie that this might work out for my baby too.:)

I am a mom of a 9-month old baby girl named Candace Franceska. I am a first-time mom, but I am also a registered nurse. Feeding my baby girl is both fun and difficult. Fun because it’s sort of a bonding time for the two of us. And difficult because her attention has to be diverted to something else in order to open her mouth. But my baby eats a lot! She actually would eat everything, putting everything that she touches or holds directly inside her mouth. From my experience, it would be best to train a baby to sit on a high chair while being fed in order to impose discipline during feeding. 🙂 Hope to score a Philips Avent Training Cup for my cute little baby girl!

Learning to eat is like any other learning process – it takes time. As parents there are a number of things you can do to help to ensure that you and your toddler will, once again, be able to enjoy food together. There are medical reasons why your toddler might not eat. The most common ones are:
– your toddler is constipated
– your toddler is anaemic

At least that was the case with my 1st born daughter. Also, getting rid
of distractions like TV, toys, your cellphone, etc., is the best way to
get your kid to eat and bond with your child at the same time.

They are so easy (and interesting) to use. 🙂 My 2yrs old daughter has the straw cup, when these training cups came up, I bought one for trial for my 8month old and he seems happy with it, excited siya to drink from it. they are easy to clean as well. 🙂

i love preparing food for my child who is in grade 4 now. I usually put fruits in her baon. but in her infants years.. i always make sure she had healthy foods since she is always sick and we are always in the hospital. I always mashed fruits & vegetables for her and let her drink plenty of water because she had UTI before. Now, I am having another baby.. actually while i am typing this.. I am already 4cm. 🙂 And just i did to my 1st daughter i will give him also healthy foods.

Feeding issues when it comes to my 10month old baby Girl is now that she is teething she usually chew on the nipples of her milk bottle. Good quality bottle is really required for teething babies as they might be able to chew and swallow it. We really need to invest on good quality baby feeding bottles/cups and accessories and I’m really hoping to win because I know Avent has high quality products. It is expensive though but the quality is what we mothers are really after.

I’m glad to say
that my 1 yr old son named Habagat is not difficult to feed. He will eat
anything that I feed him. My trick is to cut his food into tiny pieces
kasi once na maramdaman ng dila nya na malaki yung cut ng meat iluluwa
nya yun. Kapag fruit naman the trick is to make it a juice =) My only
problem is that I can’t make him sit on the high chair. Kaya hindi na
kami bumili ng high chair sayang lang kasi. Active to the highest level
ang anak ko pag kumakain kaya hindi nagsstay in one place.
Thanks for the giveaway.

We have been using Avent products from the electric pump, avent natural feeding bottles, bowls and spoons. Currently we are using the soft spouts sippy cups by avent but my son who is turning a year old in less than 2 weeks doesn’t seem to like it anymore. He wants to unscrew everything and drink directly from the cup! He is growing up really fast and is drinking like a big boy though he spills most of it on his clothes. It is quite a challenge and i hope this training cup will solve his current need.
It would be really great to try this Avent natural training cup! I hope I can win this! and just in time for his 1st birthday 😀

It would be best to prepare your own baby food instead of buying the ready-to-eat ones. With this, you would be able to adjust the content of the food be it fruit or rice w/ulam. My tip would be when cooking food for the family, you may take some for your baby before adding seasonings like soy sauce, fish sauce, salt, pepper and the likes.

Tip: Forcing your child to eat is a bad idea. It will just reinforce bad behavior towards food. Instead, serve small portions so as not to waste your food.

My 9-month old baby seldom drinks water from his bottle during meal time. He would either push it away or drink very little. But, when we tried giving him water from a Wilkins bottle, he gladly sipped from it. I think he’s ready for a sippy cup. I hope to win one of your Philips Avent Natural Training Cup 🙂 It will be a good match for my baby’s Avent feeding bowl 🙂

Be a role model to our kids and eat healthy. They should see us eating healthy food and snacks. We don’t buy soft drinks, chips and too much sweet stuff. We bake our own cookies, make our own ice cream and pancakes. My kids love fruits (apples, grapes and bananas as snacks) and some vegetables but not yet the ampalaya :).
Hope to win this for my little boy who is celebrating his birthday this November 🙂

I’m lucky i don’t have any problems with what my kids eat. They are’nt choosy which is great, from their favorite chicken all the way down to salads and vegetables, they eat it, all by themselves. Only thing is it gets kinda messy after they eat but it’s still fine for me as long as they eat healthy and eat enough.

Prepare natural food for your child. Don’t buy ready-to eat food. They contain preservatives because it lasts for couple of months or even years. Be patient on feeding them & don’t quit easily.

Tip regarding bonding and connecting w/baby for working moms: one would be when you just got home from work, make sure that you spend atleast 30mins of your time with your baby, hugs, kisses, storytelling, playtime or just be beside your baby would really mean a lot to her/him. It will somehow bring a connection between you and your little one.
