I’ve been hearing a lot of good reviews and raves about the novice brand, Happy Skin from fellow bloggers as well as from friends and family. My cousin even raved about how nice Don’t Get Mad, Get Even Hydrating Powder Foundation is, which got me even more curious about Happy Skin. Don’t be too quick to judge this local brand, barely one year in the beauty industry and they already sold over 7,500 tubes of one of their best sellers, Happy Skin Second Skin (SS) Cream Silicone Free Foundation.
This inspired founders Jacqe Gutierrez and Rissa Trillo to create a new double-letter cream which fights the number one skin problem of women: The Happy Skin Zit Zapper (ZZ) Second Skin Cream. In line with the launch, they invited a handful of bloggers for an intimate gathering to celebrate Happy Skin’s latest products which includes three new shades of Shut Up & Kiss Me lippies.
For the longest time, I’ve been asking beauty bloggers and make up enthusiasts their recommendations when it comes to the cult favorite double-letter creams. I’m too scared to invest on a good BB (even CC) cream as I haven’t really found the one that matches my skin tone and doesn’t make me break out. Skipping the rest of the 25 letters of the alphabet, Happy Skin launches their ZZ cream that caters to women with acne-prone and sensitive skin.

Shut Up & Kiss Me lippies at Php 499 each.

I couldn’t help but admire and swatch these lippies as I am all for bright pink lipchooks!

Happy Skin Zit Zapper Cream has three powerful ingredients: grapefruit extract, which is rich in antioxidants and effectively prevents sebum oxidation that triggers pimples; yogurt extract, which minimizes the growth of acne bumps, and it’s also a skin brightener that lightens acne scars, all while infused in an oil-control cream powder formula to keep the unwanted shine and give skin a healthy radiance.
Here’s Happy Skin ZZ Creme swatched on me. You’ll barely notice the blended one below the more obvious swatch I made. It comes in one shade only but because this cream is naturally-pigmented, it glides seamless on one’s skin making it easier to be absorbed. It’s the perfect product for women (like me) who want to achieve that no-make up look even with a pimple here and there. And because Happy Skin ZZ Cream is non-silicone, you won’t have to worry about aggravating your pimple nor would it induce more pimples as it doesn’t clog your pores. So thrilled about this product because I for one am breaking out like a high schooler so I’m really eager to try it as this is the first double-letter cream that I’ve gotten to know that’s as safe to use while trying to zap those unwanted zits.
I’ve finally met with Happy Skin’s co-founder Rissa Mananquil-Trillo.
So I tried Happy Skin Zit Zapper Second Skin Cream over the weekend that was and here’s how it looked on my me.
Here’s my bare, breaking out skin prior to applying Happy Skin Zit Zapper Second Skin Cream. See the bumps of pimples caused by my skin breaking bad? Stress! I could never go out of the house without applying even light powder to try and cover these up.
All it took was these four tiny dots to cover half of my face.
After applying Happy Skin Zit Zapper Second Skin Cream, my skin looked more flawless and poreless. Uneven skin tone disappeared and red bumps were vanished, if not minimised, making it almost invisible. Top this off with my face powder and my face looks flawless and fresh.
I like that it feels light on my skin and how it blends well after a few minutes. It feels like I’m just wearing my usual moisturizer (Happy Skin ZZ Cream has SPF 20 so it can be your sunblock too), only way less greasy and definitely lighter and smoother, thanks to its powdery finish, perfect for oily skin. But what I love most about wearing Happy Skin Zit Zapper Second Skin Cream is not only does it help me achieve a no-make up look but it also helps fight those nasty zits while still looking good. Would I recommend this product for those who want to achieve an au natural look while combating those pimples? Most definitely!
A girl can never have too many lipsticks! Thankful that Jacqe and Rissa exactly knows this sentiment of ours. They released three new hues: Just Say Yes (peachy-pink), Playing Footsie (bright pop of powerful fuchsia) and Honeymoon Glow (earthy nude with terra cotta base).
Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me lippies: Just Say Yes, Playing Footsie and Honeymoon Glow. Lavett! They’re currently my lipsticks (yes, I bring around 3 shades as I want to change lipsticks in between the day just because) and I’ve had a few compliments while wearing them. I love them because of their pigmentation and how light they are on my lips even if I applied more than one swipe. It doesn’t clump nor makes my lips dry and chapped.
Thank you Rissa & Jacqe for creating and offering a homegrown brand that focuses on providing skin-caring products that truly work for women. So happy I’ve gotten to know Happy Skin on a more intimate level. I am one of the many Filipinas who love the brand and wish you many more years in the beauty industry! I think I’m gonna be addicted to Shut Up & Kiss Me lippies but it’s something I don’t mind, really 😉

Hi Jenna! Start off with their Shut Up & Kiss Me lippies. They glide on smoothly, pigmentation is great & shows off in just one swipe. 🙂
