My first born and favorite girl in the world turned another year over the weekend. And what better way to celebrate her day than to drive out to the beach?
I can’t believe my daughter is now on her last single digit age! Looking back at the photos I posted on my Facebook, I am reminded of how easy of a baby she was to take care of. Actually even now, she’s such a very chill girl. She hardly ever gets mad (only when his brother annoys her). She has grown to be painfully shy yet she has this quiet confidence in her that shines whenever she’s in her element/in the zone.
We were supposed to celebrate her birthday together with some of her classmates but her school had a required activity that Saturday so our plans for a staycation slash slumber party for her and her friends quickly became a trip to the beach instead. We had the Ford Everest for the weekend so off we drove it to Subic.
It’s not my first time to drive an Everest. In fact, I’ve driven one years ago when my friends & I did a YouTube show called The Fitstop. My first comment to my friend Jeff who owns it was “OMG love how the steering wheel feels light yet the body feels sturdy.” I don’t even know if that makes sense but I think those who drive would get what I mean. Hahaha.
Though I’m familiar with the Everest, it was only last weekend that I was able to tinker with it and it’s features. I’m no car expert but as a driver, a mom and a consumer, I’m here to share with you some of the features that my family & I liked.
POWER SEAT
The driver’s seat of the Everest has power seat adjustment, making it easier to set your seat the way you want it. This is one of the things I like about this mid-size SUV. No jerking back and forth or up and down to get the perfect seat setting, a simple glide and slide makes seat adjusting fun.
WHEEL CONTROLS
The Everest steering wheels lets you adjust a bunch of things not just the volume of the car radio! If you connect your phone, you can easily use the buttons to make a call or answer it. I think you can also use it to adjust cruise control which if often used when you’re driving on a highway.
SYNC™3
SYNC™3 is a voice activation system of Everest that can answer calls, read out loud incoming texts, play music and even use apps. I love how I can go handsfree– I literally don’t need to pick up my phone whenever I’m in the car.
I rely so much on Waze whenever I drive so it’s a plus that SYNC™3 mirrors my phone. Such convenience!
REAR AC VENT & CONTROL
Rear air conditioner has its own control located at the back of the middle console. It can also be controlled through the touchscreen. This is one of the features my kids love because they get to control the AC from where they’re seating.
The Everest is something to consider whether you’re single & lead an active lifestyle or have a small family that likes to go on weekend trips.
The backseat completely folds flat giving a spacious storage for luggage and the like.

After a 2 hour drive, we’re finally at the beach!
If there’s one place that my kids get along very well it’s at the beach! They can stay in the pool or at the beach for hours, swimming & playing!
I live for moments like this. We love going on quick getaways!
Yes, I’m that mom who takes tons of photos of my kids. ?
Photo with the birthday girl. A year older, a few inches taller and a bit more wiser.
It was a quick getaway that left us wanting for more time under the sun. But we’re very grateful for a weekend well spent celebrating the birth of our first born. Thank you Ford Everest for taking us to the beach! Until next time. ☺️x
