Hi, I’m Jackie Go and I think I’m addicted to working out. 😀
First day at FF and to commemorate, I took a photo of my #OOTD. Wearing H&M top & bottom, which coincidentally matches my Hedgren bag that I love using as my gym bag. It has four zippered compartments and a few more pockets inside which is a great bag to keep your things organised.
Don’t get me wrong though, I am not hard core naman. It’s just that I find happiness despite feeling physical pain – I have low tolerance kasi – when I work out. So I’m happy to share that I’ve partnered with Fitness First to help me achieve my fitness goals. Yay!
I admit as what I said before, I dislike going to the gym because I am clumsy and have no knowledge on how to use the equipments. Nahihiya ako (I’m shy) to even try and operate it on my own. Thankfully, I have one-on-one sessions with my personal trainer to help me navigate the ironclad machines that is called the gym. Heehee.
I had my first ever workout at Fitness First two weeks ago. We started off with an assessment so we can come up with tangible goals that hopefully, I can achieve during my one-year membership.
What is my goal you ask? I just told them I want to be fit. To be able to do cardio without having any asthma attack and of course, to have abs! Hahaha. I know it’s very shallow but that’s really my basis to determine if my workout is improving my core strength.
My trainer advised me that we should focus on my core, back and thighs since these areas of my body are weaker than my chest, arms and legs. Push na yaaaaan!
My trainer had me do whole body workout for my first session. First stop: cardio. Eeep! It was a challenge & a struggle for me because I don’t really do cardio. Being an asthmatic girl, I catch my breath for the first few minutes (sometimes seconds) but surprisingly survived 5 minutes on the treadmill. Achievement unlocked! I’m so proud of myself! 😀
Next, my trainer had me do a series of machine-based workout intended to target different muscle groups. From legs, to back, to arms.
What I like about having a trainer is that I am properly guided when it comes to having the right form for each workout. If you’re planning on enrolling at Fitness First and you’re not familiar with the equipments, I suggest you get yourself a trainer even just for your first three workouts. It’s not enough that you know how to use the machines because you also need to know the proper form – the right way to sit or stand is crucial on how effective your workout will be.
I’m now on my third week and I’m happy to report that I’m getting the hang of running! I’ve even had my personal record achieved last week. I was able to last 15 minutes on the treadmill without feeling like crap. If it’s anything, I actually feel great after the 15-minute run. Mukang pwede na ata akong mag marathon! Heehee. But I won’t get ahead of myself, after all, I’m still a newbie and I really want to enjoy every workout I do at Fitness First. I am still doing Pilates and on average, I workout 5-6 times a week.
There’s no guarantee that you’ll get abs right away but with regular workout, combined with healthy eating, it can guarantee you to be one step closer to achieving your fitness goals.
You can say I’m excited to share more of my fitness journey with Fitness First. I’m also excited to experience Fitness First Platinum Viridian which hopefully opens to its members come October. No more excuses for me not to reach my fitness goals since I’ve got Fitness First to help me achieve it. You too can start your fitness journey, just visit Fitness First’s website and book for a free trial. Push nyo na yan, dali!
