Today, technology has become as essential as food and water. Don’t you agree? Most of us freak out whenever our phone stops working or our tablets running slower than usual, because these gadgets have inevitably been part of our lives. Ā Helping us be more efficient with our day to day lives. Gadgets are here to make everything easier for us. I have to admit, I’m more eager and happy to know that there are innovations that can make my role as a mom and homemaker much easier than the latest designer shoe or bag.
Just the other week, I was on a cleaning frenzy. Given I had no maid nor yaya to help me clean, I allotted one whole day to clean, purge and organise.
Boxes from gifts or products that I got were not thrown but rather were put to good use as I recycled them into storage containers that have helped me organise our home.
To know what’s in what box, I labeled them with my pre-cut Post-Its. It’s a bit tedious writing and sticking these labels on as I had to do it manually, since I find printing labels on my computer just as tedious.
Then, while I was dusting, I noticed how we never get around to change the photos in our picture frames.
The reason? It always takes forever for us to select and collect all the photos we’ve taken. Then, finding time to bring them to a printer is another story, it has become a task that’s not even fun to do. I never liked printing pictures on our printer because I always end up wasting more than a few photo papers (especially when I use the 8×11) as alignment and sizing have always been a struggle for me.
So our wall of photos are not really updated, except for the one on the lower right, which is our 2013 family portrait.
How I wish I can do these ordinary thingsĀ Ā efficiently, fuss-free and whenever I want to. These tasks may seem so easy to do but the real challenge is finding time to actually do them, because one needs to have the right tools.Ā These ordinary things that are needed to be done are oftentimes put aside especially for the busy homemakers, as we have other important things to do. But what if I tell you that these ordinaries can become extraordinary all thanks to Epson? If you’ve been following me on Instagram and Twitter, you all know by now that it is possible.
Last week, Epson presented two of their latest products over brunch to a handful of SoMoms. I was able to witness these products prove themselves worthy to be dubbed as innovations that can turn the ordinary into extraordinary.
First up, Epson LabelWorks LW-300, the ultimate labeling machine.
It’s an easy-to-use, professional solutions for all your labeling needs.
We were all amazed that Epson’s LabelWorks prints on ribbons and iron-on that you can put on clothing. Here’s Janice of Mommy Mundo’s sample ribbon.
Epson PictureMate PM 245 is a mobile photo lab that prints pictures in as fast at 37 seconds! This picture pack priced at Php 1,200 comes with a photo catridge and a set of 4R photo paper. With this bundle, you get to print 150 4R photos. About Php 8 per 4R print, not bad considering you won’t have to go out to a printing store, pay for parking and for gas.
We were so surprised when the Epson team announced that we would be receiving our very own Epson LabelWorks LW-300 and Epson PictureMate PM 245. OMG. NKKLK! We totally didn’t expect it as we were too consumed listening and watching the demo featuring how these products work.
Being the atat person that I am, I immediately played with my new babies as soon as I got home. All that being enthusiastic has its benefits as I was able to tinker them, providing a quick review for all of you.

It has a QWERTY keyboard and has a manual cutter, plus it can do multiple printing per one label design. It can also save up to 30 label designs and will always save the last label created, making it ready for the next use.
The best feature of Epson LabelWorks LW-300 is that it has flexibility when it comes to labeling. With about 14 font types, 10 different font styles (bold, italic, outline, shadow, etc.), 457 symbols (including icons and smileys) and 87 frames, one can create unique labels suitable for almost every use- home, school, office or personal. You get to label away while unleashing your creative side.
It has its own adaptor that you can plug on a 220v but can also be operated with 6 AAA battery so you can label on the go. Winner!

You can also get additional labels such as the iron-on -perfect for your clothes or even your bags made of cloth and the ribbon tape- that can make ribbons fun and personal, perfect for wrapping presents or packing products.

I actually started labeling the storage boxes I have for our kitchen. See how nifty and more presentable they look? No more tapes and hand-written Post-It labels in our home. Love how so professionally done it looks.
While I was taking photos of the products, my lil’ Mr. GJG couldn’t help but smile and pose in front of the camera. Somebody wants to be featured! That’s his I-fake-cried-so-you’d-notice-me-smile. š
Now, the second product of Epson is something I know not only moms would love, but also teenagers even kids who just like taking photos and would want to instantly print them.
EPSON PICTUREMATE PM 245, Php 7,995
This handy photo lab prints instant and cost-saving photos that lasts up to 200 years! Whaaaat? We’d be long gone and even our great-great-grandchildren but the photos printed in this baby would still be as clear as yesterday’s dream. Winner!
Each Epson PictureMate PM 245 comes with a photo cartridge and 20 pieces of 4R photo paper.
Just like Epson LabelWorks LW-300, PictureMate PM is also easy to use, no assembling needed. All you have to do is insert the cartridge and plug the adaptor and you’re set to print albums of photos!
There’s also an option to purchase a bluetooth adaptor so you can print directly from your mobile phone, tablets and other bluetooth enabled devices. You can also purhcase a rechargeable battery pack so you can print on the go.

You can direct print through the use of any of these slots or connect your digital camera directly using PictBridge or USB Direct as PictureMate PM 245 has aĀ USB 2.0 Hi-Speed port, which you can also use to connect your PC. The operating system is compatible to Windows XP, XP Professional x64 Edition, Vista/ 7, Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later.
Upon initial use, it will prompt to charge which will take about a minute or so. Navigation is easy as each button has a specific function. The LCD tilts up so you can easily view the photos you want to print.
I tried it using my camera’s memory card which has more than a thousand photos. And because of this, it has automatically grouped the photos by batch according to the date taken, making it easy to locate the photo you want to print. I suggest, to make it easier, transfer your photos na into your computer, so when you use your camera’s memory card, you can choose only among the photos you want to print.
Upon choosing a photo, a print preview will let you see it before printing.Ā Did I mention you can also edit your photos using Epson Claria PhotoEnhance? You can adjust the skin tone, color casts and exposure levels, You can even add cool effects, cliparts and even reduce red eye and so much more with the built-in features at a touch of a button.

For years, I always wanted to get things organized from the kitchen to the bedroom, to my products which I sell online and my sonās stuffs like crafts,books,toys,etc. Sometimes, I get to work at home too so I wanted to keep my things pretty tidy. At this point, we cannot afford these gadgets but if I get to win, sure it will SAVE us thousands of bucks, time, effort and well, space in the bedroom and in the computer disk! I WANT AN EPSON PICTUREMATE AND EPSON LABELWORKS because I want to organize and sort all my stuff at home. I have lots of worksheets from Preschoolers to grade-schoolers which I only arrange using envelopes and label it with marker. I want to be able to sort them according to grade level and label them nicely so I would feel more motivated to work. Also, labeling is a must for any mom with kid/s schooling. My daughter is in big school now and all her things need to be labelled. I only use the old style pen and scotch tape labeling including her pencils. This would allow me to label things easier and this can also be our bonding moment where she can choose the font and the design. I think it would be fun!

I WANT PICTUREMATE AND LABELWORKS because until present, my scrapbook for my 4 year old son is yet to materialize. As a working mom, I would rather spend time with my son and husband than work on a scrapbook. I only have 3 hours to spend with my son during weekdays and as much as I want to make my first scrapbook, my time cannot afford. My weekend on the other hand, is delegated for tasks/assignments I need to accomplish at home. It is comforting to know that printing, labeling and cutting are made easier with these items. Not to mention that labeling and prompt imaging also resolve issues such as memory lapses which I have been struggling with for years now. My remedy to my problem is to put notes/short reminders on my screen. With this, I get reminded of the things I need to remember and work on. I hope to get one of these items.

My parents and siblings are now living at Middle East which makes me living a life here in Philippines without them.
