Ever since we moved to our new place, I couldn’t help but think what’s lacking especially when it comes to kitchenware. I am now officially domesticated. I bet my friends from Inadvertently Domesticated would be proud of me! *shout out to Ms. B & Ms. C* Anyway, whenever we’re at the mall I’ve noticed I’ve been frequenting stores that sells anything about house decors and housewares. As if our new place spells mansion (no not even remotely close to a normal sized house, the size is just right for starting a family), but then again for a housewife I believe I can never have too many kitchenware. Right? Right.
So two weeks ago, our usual weekend trip to the mall lead us to Homeworld Warehouse sale.
Everyone was busy scouting for the best deals they can get. Well we were even tempted to buy an accent mirror for our dinning area but then again we weren’t really digging the design. But I was really eager to find something that’s worth falling in line for check out and my urge of wanting to take home something was persistent. Okay there were actually a lot of things I could’ve gotten. Pillows, bed sheet sets, curtains, storage containers (one of my favorites, I almost hoarded), small appliances, dinning ware (lots of Corelle and Luminarc to be exact) and tons of pots and pans. I would’ve gotten one of each of the said items but the practical wife in me managed to control the shopaholic/hoarder in me. So after an hour (or was it two?) of looking around, I am happy to report that I bought these functional pretties.
Aren’t they cute? These vintage looking ceramic containers are just too cute to resist I just had to get them, even though I already have a few sets of containers for sugar, coffee, tea, and cream. I love how each container has an air tight lid, well except for the butter container. The best part? I got them for P50 (around) $1.16 except for the coffee container which is at P75 (around $1.80). With these cute coffee & tea container, it is just fitting that I also get a pot to go with it.
Whether you’re a fan of coffee or tea, this cute ceramic pot can make your coffee or tea time fancier and lovelier. I got Mrs. Pots (yes, too cute I had to name it!) for P75 (around $1.80) almost all item at the sale were 50-70% off.
Of course it is just fitting to have tea cups as well, these plain white tea cups is at P15 a pair (around $0.35). A steal indeed! We should’ve gotten more. *sighs*
These sleek appetizer, dip or sauce palette are both functional and stylish. If you’re like me who’s fond of using dips and sauces in every meal then this is perfect for you. Each one is at P20 (around $0.50), I plan to get at least six but my husband stopped me so we agreed to get three instead. LOL
And because Christmas is near, I just had to buy these cute snowman tin cans! Prices range from P50, P75 and P85 (around $ 1-$2) for the small red, medium blue and large green tin cans respectively.
I could’ve started my early Christmas shopping but then again I have to prioritize our household budget so maybe I’ll do it next month. Anyway, glad that I was able to satisfy my urge and at the same time create a kitchenware collection, best of all buying things at their discounted price. Okay, okay I know it’s no excuse but for a housewife like me, finding nifty and affordable items for home is just delightful.
As I type this I am a heart beat more excited with the coming of Christmas! I am pretty much excited to stuff these tin cans with my baked goodies, which I can do after I’ve attended my basic baking 101 class next week. I can’t wait to share my experience with you all soon.
That’s all!
Happy hump day everyone!
