I follow a handful for celebrities online. There’s something fascinating about their lifestyle and in this day and age of social media, it’s nice to know they’re very open to share bits and pieces of their lives with their fans and followers. More often than not every time they post a selfie of themselves looking fresh & all dolled up, I can’t help but wish that I have my very own glam squad so I can finally post #iwokeuplikethis thanks to my #glamsquad heeheehee.
I know people look up to celebrities not just because of what they do but also because of how they look. Thankfully, Happy Skin knows what we women want and their latest collaboration bridges the gap between celebrity make up artists and women who loves the local brand with #HappySkinGlamsquad
Host Tim Yap with Mickey See, Juan Sarte, Denise Go-Ochoa, Jigs Mayuga. Four well-known make up artists who shared their passion and love for beauty with us all through the Happy Skin Glam Squad collection.
With my glam squad (char!) I mean my fellow bloggers, Angela Nepomuceno, Happy Skin’s Sophie Uy, and Nikki Tiu.
Everything is just lovely!

Happy Skin Glam Squad also has a Custom Brush Set that contains a powder, angled flat top, eyeshadow/concealer, crease, eyeshadow blending, and lip brushes.
For Juan Sarte, bronze and champagne are two shades he can’t live without. It’s a neutral shadow shade and highlight shade in one palette. He choose the shimmery texture because for him, it’s easy to blend. For the liquid matte lipstick, he chose a universal mauve shade because it gives a just-bitten effect when dabbed on the lips or use it full on for a glamorous look.
For Mickey See, bride-to-be was on his mind when he decided on bringing out a blushing look with his choice of shimmery peach and matte light brown eyeshadows and deep blush liquid lipstick. According to Mickey, one can use the eyeshadows as a highlighter and contour powder. He chose deep bush for his liquid lipstick to give that blushing and youthful look.
Jigs Mayuga decided on a bold look with his matte brown and matte black eyeshadow shades because e understands how tends empower. These shades can help a woman transition from day to night and when paired with his rose-brown lipstick, it makes the look balanced.
Denise Go-Ochoa has become synonymous when it comes to having a fresh look makeup which has become her trademark. Shades of matte caramel and satin-finish medium brown can really automatically make one look fresh. Add the naked peach liquid matte lipstick and you’re good to go.
Similar to Happy Skin’s successful collaborations in the past, the four master makeup artist are giving a portion of the collection’s sales to their charities of choice: Juan, to global food assistance program; Demise, to Haven for the Elderly; Mickey, to orphanage White Cross Children’s Home; and to Jigs, to LGBTQ network LAGABLAB.
Here I was with Denise Go-Ochoa. Denise was my make up artist back when I started doing TV Commercials a decade ago. When it comes to her craft, she’s very meticulous and really knows her way around make up. I am always impressed on how I always end up looking fresh after she’s worked on my face, even though I lack sleep or have a bad breakout. In her words “kaya ko gawan ng paraan” (I can find a way to make it work) and this I can truly attest to. I asked her for tips on how to get that fresh look and here’s what she shared.
Have a good foundation. Having the perfect base is essential in achieving that fresh look. So make sure your skin is prepped and ready for make up. Which means you have to…
Know the right products to create a good base. Liquid foundation, CC cream, BB cushion, mineral powder–you have to know what works for your skin. Try swatching samples to get a feel of the products and ask the brand beauty consultant what’s best for your skin type.
Less is more. Having good base doesn’t mean applying too much products. You can start by preparing your skin–cleanse, tone and moisturise–then add a primer, concealer and foundation. Don’t slap on tons of products immediately, use a blending sponge or foundation brush to blend the products well. You still want to make it look like your skin.
Start skin care stat! Good skin can be attributed to genes or for most of us, skin care! It’s easier to apply make up if the skin is clean and clear. So invest on skin care early on so you only need less make up, for you’ll let your skin do the talking–that’s good foundation right there.
Thank you so much Den for sharing some tips. I will be sure to follow them so I can achieve that fresh look! 😉
