A year after it’s launch, Cathy Doll comes out with a collection that’s bound to make even none makeup lover gush. A little late in unboxing/reviewing but better than never right? This year I’m gonna be featuring more products/services that I think would help consumers figure out what would work for them or not. With all the products/services available knowing what you should invest on is a must.
Anyway, the Korean inspired brand released three eyeshadow palettes, two highlight and shading cushion compacts, a contour kit, an eyebrow mascara and six matte lippies.
Cathy Doll Nude Me Eyeshadow, Php 499/palette
01 Nude, 02 Smoky, 03 Pink Champagne
01 Nude
02 Smoky
03 Pink Champagne
What I like about Cathy Doll Nude Me palette is that each one has three finishes: shimmer, satin and matte. The shimmer shadows are very pigmented and glide easily, (I think this is usually the case for most shimmer shades no?) the satin is easiest to blend while the matte ones though were pigmented yet has fallout (I think this is usual for most matte shadows?).
Cathy Doll Sculpting Highlight and Shading Cushion SPF50 PA+++, Php 749
Comes in two shades: Fair & Honey
Like the warm contour shade of Fair but the highlighter I think is too white (or maybe my skin tone is just darker?). Though it’s a cushion cream, I like that it’s lightweight and dries fast (quick tip: dab it lightly on your skin so it gets blended easily.
Honey’s contour can actually pass as my foundation/base. Heehee. But I love it! It gives that subtle contour and the highlighter gives the right amount glow. Honey really works for girls with warm skin tone.
Cathy Doll 3D Face Forward Nefertiti Contour Kit in Nefertiti Weapon, Php 299
I’ve been into contour kits since I’ve first got my hands on one and I always get excited to try new ones. Cathy Doll 3D Face Forward looks very promising.
The swatches are two swipes each. Though I’m not a fan of the white highlighter, I like the contour and blush of this kit that I think it’s worth giving a shot. And for the affordable price of Php 299, it’s a good starter kit.
Cathy Doll Eyebrow Cara in Creamy Caramel, Php 199
Brow mascara is an essential for me. I’ve always used one since I was introduced to it coz it really makes untamed brows cleaner. If you have full brows and don’t really need any brow filler, a brow mascara is perfect for you. Just brush it lightly on your brows to groom/shape it. If your hair is colored this can also give a hint of color to your brows. The Creamy Caramel works for ash blonde hair.
Cathy Doll Nude Me Liquid Matte Lip, Php 399/each
Matte lippies will always have a special place in my heart. Pigmentation, non-drying and wearable shades are the three things I look for in a matte lippie.
top to bottom: True Brown, Nude Brown, Rose Bloom, Moss Rose, Rose Embroidery and Burgundy Red
Based on the photo, it’s as matte as it can be no? It’s surprisingly long wearing yet doesn’t budge off easily which is why oil-based makeup remover is needed for it. It’s lightweight too but unfortunately like most matte lippies, it tends to be drying especially if it’s long-wearing. Still, it’s something I like wearing every now and then.
Overall, Cathy Doll makeup is worth trying. It’s fairly affordable and quality is at par with it’s price.
