Remember last week when I posted more than a few photos of delicious food on my Instagram? All that were from my fun lunch with my fellow SoMoms at Boon Tong Kee at their Tomas Morato branch. I’ve actually dined a few times already at their Rockwell Powerplant Mall branch so I was quite familiar with some of their dishes. This time around, they introduced me to some of their latest addition to their growing menu.
We were accompanied by Printster by Social Savvy PH. It’s a photo booth that lets you print photos you post on Instagram by using a particular hashtag.
Wondering why we were such an eager beaver to post photos of the food? Well aside from the fact that we really are that way, Boon Tong Kee has an ongoing promo with Printster. These photos automatically become Boon Tong Kee coupons! Present one when you dine and get 50% off onthe dish in the photo. I believe Boon Tong Kee will be setting up Printster randomly in their branches for their diners to enjoy.
Check out Boon Tong Kee’s latest offerings, a great selection to their menu.
Warning: food porn ahead. And yes, we ate these all! It was too good to pass! 😉
A delicious appetizer to prepare you for a feast. Crunchy prawn filled toast that’s good, I even want to pair it with rice! 😉
My lil’ Mr. GJG loves this! Crispy on the outside, so soft on the inside. Did you know that Boon Tong Kee Philippines only uses the best bean curd? They scoured the country in search for the best bean curd to be at par with the master franchise in Singapore. I gotta say it’s equally good.
Poached Chinese Spinach With Assorted Eggs
One of the two soups that my kids love. Surprisingly, they like this a lot. It must be the mixture of texture and flavor.
For those who like it thick, this soup is perfect for you.
According to Miguel Aranaz, part owner of Boon Tong Kee, the sauces are imported from Singapore. They don’t want to compromise on the authenticity of the flavors.
I like Boon Tong Kee’s version of Hainanese chicken because its boneless and tender.
Roast Chicken with Sambal Sauce
I like it with a lot of sambal sauce! If you want it crispy, order this one instead of the boiled chicken.
My lil’ Mr. GJG enjoying his lunch with mommy.
Coffee Pork Rib
I’m a coffee lover so this dish is close to my heart! I love that it’s not overpowering. I wish they used pork loin instead of ribs so that savoring the flavor won’t be interrupted by me trying to filter the ribs I almost had to swallow.
A hearty dish itself. Noodles were cooked to perfection and the prawns gave most of the soup’s flavor.
Bai Cai is a Chinese cabbage, more commonly known as pechay. The gluten tasted like a fried wanton wrapper which was something I liked.
It was a tender and flavorful dish. You can pair it with Boon Tong Kee’s chicken rice or their steamed buns.
A refreshing take on a vegetable dish. The crispy lotus makes any regular stir-fried vegetables boring.
What makes Bong Toon Kee’s Cereal Prawns different from others? Pork floss or mahu. It is mixed with their cereal making it more flavorful and unique. Whenever we dine at Boon Tong Kee, we always end up cleaning the cereal left behind because it’s that good!
Now for dessert!
I’m not a fan of green tea but this creme brulee has caught me off guard. It was creamy with a hint of green tea topped with caramelized sugar. A dessert that even non-sweet tooth will enjoy.
This sticky red bean rice topped with ube ice cream reminded me of our native version, ginataang malagkit with monggo. Noms.
Like a pudding with tapoica topped with vanilla ice cream and sugar syrup. I love this!
I’m not sure what this is called but it tastes like Strawberry Panna Cotta.
Lastly, this chocolate soy pudding is for chocolate and taho lovers like me. Its a fusion of both my favorites, how can I resist? Not a fan of chocolate? Don’t dismiss this dessert just yet as they have other flavors to choose from.
Thank you Boon Tong Kee for the delicious lunch. With the new dishes, expect my family and I to visit again soon.
