A quick out of town trip is something we like doing. It is a getaway that can help us recharge, unwind and just relax. To be away from the hustle and bustle of the city without going too far, we always head out to Subic, Zambales at least once a year.
On our last Subic trip, Harbor Point Mall was already open. Since there were only a handful of restaurants worth visiting, (not to mention uniquely Subic) we tried Ben’s Kitchen.
Ben’s Kitchen is created by the same family who brought us Xtremely Xpresso. It was named after the owner’s husband, Ben who had a knack for delicious comfort food. The restaurant’s interior was also designed by the owner’s daughter.
Vintage pieces and displays are of Ben and his family’s collection.
M&M phone
Oreo train tin can.
Coca-cola wooden bench.
Vintage car.
Popeye bust.
lil’ Ms. GJG with her cousin Coco Enosh.
Freshly popped popcorn was served while you order and wait for your food.
Here’s Ben’s Kitchen Menu.

With Auntie Kathy Foo, restauranteur and the owner of Xtremely Xpresso & Ben’s Kitchen. I forgot to blog about Xtremely Xpresso pala. We’ve been constantly dinning there every time we’re in Subic. Di bale next time we go back, I’ll definitely write a post about it. 🙂
THE VERDICT
The Ambiance: 4 clovers
Roomy & well-lit restaurant that still gives you a homey feel. Enough space to park strollers.
The Food: 4 clovers
It sure is true with Ben’s Kitchen’s tagline: Satisfy Your Guilty Pleasure. Comfort food that’s delicious is what composes their menu. From a hearty breakfast to dessert. They’ve got it all covered.
The Price: 4.5 clovers
Most of their dishes are below 200 Php. Value for money is definitely there without compromising the quality of food. A hefty dish can be shared by two, perfect for dates on a budget.
The Service: 4 clovers
For a restaurant that was on soft opening, their service was great! Staff was very knowledgable with the menu and food were served quickly too.
OVERALL RATING: 4 clovers
Ben’s Kitchen is another restaurant you’d definitely have to visit when you’re in Subic especially if you’re all for comfort food. It’s perfect for families and for a casual date with your loved one.
