I live for weekends at the beach.
On days when we can get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the beach is where we find ourselves.
The last time I was in La Union was a decade ago (well technically we’ve been to La Union three years ago where we stayed in another resort with friends) when Mr. JG, his family & I did a stopover before heading to Baguio. Now we’re back with our kids and this time we stayed at Aureo Resort.
Aureo Resort is a 4-hour drive outside Metro Manila.
Beach weekend requires being bare–no makeup, air-dry hair. My clothes can even fit in small bag because it’s all shorts, cotton tops and suits. Still I used a luggage so I can easily put everything in.
Quick OOTD: top, Zara| skorts, Zara| slippers, Fitflop| luggage, Lipault
Brought my Lipault luggage bag with me. It’s spacious for a hand-carry luggage and it glides so effortlessly that my kids keep on asking me if they can be the one to carry it. I got my personalized bag tag from Booths Republic.
Here’s our deluxe room with pool access. It has the usuals–coffee maker, TV, mini bar, two queen sized bed and a writing desk. Deluxe Room is at Php 8,700 per night including breakfast for two.
The bathroom is equipped with a bidet (it’s something we always look for), toilet, enclosed shower, blow dryer, towels, and toiletries.
After getting settled we all went out to explore the resort. Aureo is a relaxing resort whether you’re with your friends and family. The whole stretch of the beach feels like it is solely for the guests of the resort and the sand is way better than of San Juan, La Union. I love that it’s very kid-friendly and the staff is very hospitable–something we really appreciate wherever we stay.
A cozy lounge area on the other side of the resort. This is in the middle of the rooms facing the garden area.Aureo has two pools located on each side of the resort.
And each pool faces directly to the beach front. So if you’re done lounging by the pool, you can go straight to the beach with just a few steps.
Right before we swam and stayed at the beach.
My little lady.
And my cutie boy.
I don’t pack any makeup–just lip balm & tint–but I do pack a handful of skincare. Two of the things I brought with me are these Beach Born Sunset Spray and Healing Toner. Since I barely fix my hair whenever I’m at the beach, I just use the Sunset Spray to set my hair and refresh it too whenever I feel it’s been too exposed under the sun. The Healing Toner I spritz on my face as a toner and also whenever I wanna refresh my face. My kids like using it too! You can order these online through https://beachborn.ph
My handsome boys enjoying pool time. If you watched my Instagram stories you’ve probably seen how much fun they had.
We shuffle from the pool to the beach because it’s just a few steps aways from our room–the stretch of sand and sea is always a welcome sight.
So glad my kids love the beach as much as my husband & I do.
This little lady misses doing gymnastics–she’s been of training and wanted to try other sports.
We were clearly beach bums during our trip. We mostly ate, swam, ate and swam.
One of the beautiful sunsets I’ve witnessed.
La Union sunset is just gorgeous!
Caught my kids having a talk by the pool. I think they were discussing about what they plan to do the next day. Hay these two and their love-hate relationship.
The kind of blue we love waking up to.
This little cutie is really a big girl na. Hahahuhu. I bought this hat last year and it was bit loose pa then but look at it now, it barely fits her na.
Quick OOTD: hat, Zara| shades, Barbie| shirt, Robby Rabbit| shorts, Great Kids| sandals, Crocs
The dinning area is right by the beach front. Such a great way to enjoy a cup of coffee while hearing the sound of the waves matched with a little bit of sunlight coming in.
Can you spot the bird?
Found my spot to go tanning.
I see myself in this boy. Sometimes he just stares blankly as if he’s caught up in a deep thought.
While this little lady has become a daddy’s girl.
On the afternoon of our second day we did a bit of water activity aside from our usual swim. There are a few water sports you can do at Aureo. They offer jet ski, paddle board, kayak. I think paddle board is at Php 500 per 30 minutes?
Paddle boarded all the chips, chocolates and junk food I had. 🙂
Then it was their turn next.
Aureo also sets up seats right by the beach. So if you wanna dine under the stars this is for you.
Aureo Resort is a good place to stay if you’re looking at spending a quiet time at the beach with your friends or family. You can drive to San Juan La Union to explore the local scene too. I’ll do a separate post on this.
Aureo Resort is located at Luzon 2500, San Fernando, La Union, Philippines
