Giving Birth The Second Time Around

Today marks the 1st month of my second born. I cannot believe it has been a month since I gave birth!

Being pregnant the second time around has its advantages, expecting the worst and knowing soon after things will get better. I say same goes with giving birth. Especially that I underwent caesarian operation with Gabbie, I’ve already anticipated what will happen the second time around. The step by step process and of course the pain that comes with it.

Although everything went almost exactly the same, the feeling of giving birth on a different hospital was something my husband and I were excited to find out.

Sharing with you all some photos from the day I gave birth to my son. Because I was on scheduled CS at three in the afternoon, I had to fast from 12 midnight. That meant no food nor liquid, yes even water isn’t allowed. We arrived at SLMC- Global City at around eight in the morning. Admission was a breeze as the staff were very efficient. While waiting for me to get prepped I took the liberty of taking photos of our room.

So after the preparation, we went straight into the delivery room, had the necessary tools & equipments on standby, and I had my spinal shot of epidural. While everything and everyone’s set, my hubby and I were patiently waiting to hear the baby’s first cry as our doctors talked us throughout the procedure. Well, my husband actually saw the whole thing.

If there’s one thing that I wasn’t familiar with, it would have to be breastfeeding. Although I did breastfeed Gabbie for a month and three months mixed fed her, we never had a successful latch. I tell you for something that’s natural as breastfeeding, getting there isn’t easy. I’ll share with you all my breastfeeding experience on another post.

I can’t believe it’s been a month since I took this photo of you a few hours after you were born. You, like any other newborn were too fragile yet peaceful-looking to not adore.

Now after a month, your face is now full of expression and you’ve definitely grown.

The pain and sleepless nights are definitely worth it.
