It’s been a while since my family & I did a staycation in Alabang. So I was looking forward to last weekend when we stayed at the newly opened Somerset.
The receiving area at the lobby is my living room peg!
Another milestone for Ascott Limited’s Philippine cluster for opening its 6th property and its first foray into the Southern part of Manila with Somerset Alabang Manila–the first international serviced residence in the South. The new property is located within the integrated business and commercial district development of Filinvest City, Alabang.
Somerset Alabang Manila is a 150-unit development that offers various prime apartment choices–studios, one-, two-and three-bedroom apartments. The contemporary interior of each room comes with all the conveniences of home such as well-equipped kitchen, separate working and living areas, home entertainment system and broadband internet connection. They also have a balcony where guests can enjoy the spectacular view of the vibrant cityscape.
This lounge chair is a piece of art itself!
Somerset Alabang Manila also has 11 serviced offices for lease that are ready for operation from day 1; 2 function rooms which are collapsible into 2 and 3 smaller function or meeting rooms–can be booked for corporate or sicla events; and 2 boardrooms.
The function rooms’ view is the pool. Kinda inviting to jump right in there while you’re in a meeting no? Heehee.
My kids like having their own bags especially when we travel. Here they are wearing their own Lassig sports bags.
We got the One-Bedroom and Studio Room which are just right beside each other & can be accessed with only one key. You can check out what it looks like in detail over Yen’s blog www.thetummytraveler.ph.
I love the black accent of the bathrooms. And yes, there’s a bath tub.
Since it was gloomy and raining when we arrived, we decided to just chill in our suite and help ourselves with the welcome treats. My kids were surprised that they both got a teddy bear to cuddle with.
While the kids enjoyed the bath tub, I finished some work while enjoying a cup of coffee.
The afternoon went by fast, so off we went to grab dinner at Cafe Madrigral.
I swear my kids were spoiled during our stay. They even got balloons from the staff!
My lil’ lady practicing her reading skills by trying to order.
While we waited for our food I checked out the 4th floor which houses the different amenities of Somerset Alabang Manila.
It has fully-equipped fitness centre, lap pool, premier restaurant Cafe Madrigal, pool bar and Cubbies Room, a play area for children.
Dinner’s served.

Nasi Goreng, Php 580
Chicken satay, fried rice, pickled vegetables, fried egg
Beef Salpicao, Php 530

Eyes lit upon seeing her food arrive. 🙂
After dinner I met up with Nikki of Ask Me Whats and the rest of the media invited for the weekend at the bar.
Spinach Artichoke Dip, Php 270
Homemade vegetable chips
Cold Cuts & Cheese Platter
Sausage
I capped off the night with Margarita! 😉
One of the best staycations I’ve had. Sleeping on the comfy bed and being part of stillness of this side of Alabang made me sleep soundly that night that I woke up feeling refreshed.
Woke up early to have breakfast and take advantage of the better weather we had that day.
Dangit, bacon, waffle & pork tocino are some of my breakfast favourites! 🙂
Mom take my picture so they can see my Baymax swim costume!- Juro
Though it was still raining, we still went on swimming. No staycation is complete without some pool time! Twinning with my lil’ Ms. JG is always fun.
After swim time the kids got hungry so we had lunch at Cafe Madrigal before checking out.
Mediterranean Salad, Php 130
Seared tuna, french beans, marble potatoes, bell peppers, cured tomatoes, lemon parsley dressing
OMG, this is one of my favorite salads by far! I liked it so much I also enjoyed for dinner and lunch!
Barbecue Ribs, Php 780
Beef tenderloin with truffle risotto, and grilled asparagus in red wine sauce
Another dish from Cafe Madrigal that I truly enjoyed. Super tender & flavourful ribs–you need extra rice!
Mahi-Mahi, Php 640
White beans, bok choy, and tomatoes in duglere sauce
Sinigang (Prawn), Php 640
Tamarind broth, prawn, sili leaves, steamed rice
Sinigang is one dish that will always be my favorite! And Cafe Madrigal’s didn’t disappoint! Sour kung sour the soup which goes well with the prawns. I truly enjoyed it.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to try their desserts. It was too late when I asked for S’mores Dip and Louis XV because they ran out na 🙁 Maybe it’s a good reason to come back for it? 🙂
Somerset Alabang Manila also has a jogging/bike lane. They also have bikes for rent both for adults and kids. I wish the weather was good and that we had enough time to bike around. I bet my kids would’ve enjoyed it.
Didn’t leave Somerset Alabang Manila without having my photo taken with this beauty! Heehee.
Well you can say my kids, especially lil’ Ms. JG enjoyed our stay. So much so that she left us a note saying how much she loves us and how much she enjoyed our staycation. I owe it to Somerset Alabang Manila for the wonderful time we had, it truly is #yourhomeinthesouth
