Christmas wouldn’t be complete without bright lights, colourful surroundings, holiday cheer and of course Santa Claus. So to kick start the Christmas spirit, last November 28, we witnessed the Grand Festival of Lights Parade at SM Mall Of Asia, where our most beloved Christmas icon, Santa Claus and his friends from Sanrio are in town to bring Christmas cheer every Saturday from November 28 until Christmas Day.
The Grand Festival of Lights Parade starts at the north arcade of SM Mall of Asia and ends at Seaside Blvd. with a grand fireworks display.
The kid inside me is very happy upon seeing Hello Kitty! She was so charming as she softly waved to the crowd.
Sweet as candy Melody was present at the parade.
Dancers and Mall of Asia’s Royal Marching Band sashayed along with the Christmas floats that are lit from within.
A lot of mall goers had their selfies taken with the dancing nutcrackers, gingerbread men, Christmas trees and snowmen to name a few.
More Sanrio characters were seen at the parade.
My lil’ Ms. JG watched the parade with a smile on her face. She was thrilled she saw Hello Kitty up close, as well as Badtz-Maru and Keropi.
You can also meet and listen to all Christmas wishes as Santa Comes To Town at the Main Mall Atrium on December 5, 6, 12, 13, 20, and 25. You can also take a selfie with the thousands of cute and cuddly Santas scattered all over SM Mall of Asia and check out the 50-foot Christmas Tree at the Main Mall Atrium.
After watching the Grand Festival of Lights Parade we head on over to iHop for dinner. As we take our seats and placed our order, the fireworks display at the Seaside Boulevard started. You can say we had a good view from where we were seated and my lil’ JGs were amazed with the colourful and bright sky.
Truly, Christmas is the best time to spend with family and friends, so whether you’re at SM Mall of Asia shopping for last minute Christmas gifts or just having a cozy dinner at one of their many restaurants, go ahead and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Grand Festival of Lights Parade.
So celebrate Christmas at SM Mall of Asia and catch the Grand Festival of Lights Parade every Saturday of December at 5:30 in the afternoon. For updates on their fun holiday events, follow SM Mall of Asia on their social media channels.
