Designers have put their creativity and craft to life as evident with their creations. Most apparel designers over time have expanded to build their accessory line and that’s just about right. For one, well-known designer Tory Burch, who has an eye for all aesthetically beautiful things, extended her love for all things chic & pretty thus resulting to a beauty collection. Personally, I think it’s a great move because really, when you’ve established yourself in the world of fashion, the next best thing is to do the same in the world of beauty.
I got a closer look at Tory Burch Beauty when I visited their boutique at Rustan’s Makati in Glorietta.
The first that was launched was the Tory Burch fragrance. It comes in EDT spray bottle and in perfume pendant.
The iconic double T logo appears on each beauty product.
It isn’t a secret that Tory Burch loves color, thus she created 12 distinctive shades for her new Lip Color Collection. From tomboy neutrals to feminine pinks and bold brights. The collection is designed to flatter a variety of skin tones.
The new collection builds on the successful launch of Tory’s signature pinky-nude lip color – “Pas du Tout”. Formulated to deliver the ideal balance of sheer, yet vibrant color and rich texture with a weightless finish, each lipstick is subtly scented with the notes from the Tory Burch fragrance- cassis, grapefruit and mandarin.
Each Tory Burch Lip Color is priced at Php 1,650 & is encased in gold and orange fretwork , each one is a super-chic accessory in itself. I honestly think, orange has become more chic because of Tory Burch, don’t you agree? 🙂
Swatched the lipstick immediately and because I was too excited, I couldn’t figure out which one’s which. Heehee.
Many of the shades in the Lip Color Collection have names inspired by Tory’s personal history- from old-fashioned phrases and family nickname to superstitious sayings. The name of Tory’s signature shade “Pas du Tout” comes from a phrase often said by her father, Buddy. It’s part of the original French version of the classic “she loves me, she loves me not” daisy-petal-pulling game. While “Swizzle”, a reddened plum with silver shimmer, refers to an old-fashioned gentleman’s drink that is a family favorite. “Tomboy”, a pinky bronze, is a nod to Tory’s childhood identity and an aesthetic that informs her design sensibility.
My top picks from the Lip Color Collection are Saucy, Scoundrel, Pas Du Tout, Swizzle, Smack Dab and Tomboy. They stood out the most as they have vibrant shades yet mellowed down with the sheer finish. Tip: when wearing sheer lipstick, set your lips by dabbing loose powder or if you want it to last longer, apply concealer or foundation first. Setting your lips first before applying lipstick can help the shade pop out!
Since I was already at the boutique, I figured I might as well indulge on the beauty that surrounded me. And because sharing is caring, here are some of my picks from Tory Burch’s new collection.
