I’m gonna start a new tradition this 2018. I’ll do a month end post of the products I’ve tried and liked. It’s a quick no nonsense review of the things I’ve tried or would be trying in the coming weeks.
Some new faves, some old ones!
Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom
available at all Jo Malone stores
Been my go-to scent for years now and I love that it comes in mini size so I can bring it with me wherever I go. They have sets of minis available in stores and have more than a dozen of scents that you can mix and match.
Benefit the POREfessional Pearl Primer
available at all Benefit Cosmetics stores and online through beatuymnl.com
That instant poreless look with a glow to boot! I’m not a primer kind of girl but since I’ve been trying out different products, sometimes I find my skin dull looking and the pores, my gaaash they’re huge! Hahahuhu. Definitely something to include in your makeup kit if you want that poreless skin with hint of glow. Read the full review of my friend Angela on her blog HERE.
available at all MAC stores and counter
I love using this to set my makeup or just freshen my face. Since I have dry/combination skin, wearing matte base products tend to make my skin dull looking. This however makes my makeup more skin-like finish. I think I’m gonna get the coconut scent variant next time.
The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream
available at all The Body Shop stores
If you’re not a fan of foundation or just want to put something that can even out your skin then go for BB or CC creams. This particular one is currently my favorite. I’ve always been a fan of The Body Shop tea tree stick and oil so this was something I knew I was excited to try. It gives enough coverage and hides my blemishes naturally. Best part? Tea tree is anti-bacterial not only am I getting the coverage of a base makeup but also skin care too!
Celeteque DermoCosmetics Dual CC Matte Powder with SPF 30
available at leading drugstores (Watsons, Mercury Drug, PCX) nationwide
A matte powder that not only keeps your face fresh looking but also protects your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. It’s a color correcting powder that has SPF 30 with a medium coverage and comes in three shades. I don’t usually wear makeup everyday but when I need to look a tad bit presentable, I just sweep this on my face and groom my brows and I’m all set.
Bobbi Brown Satin & Caviar Eyeshadow and Long-Wear Gel Liner
available at all Bobbi Brown stores
I got this limited edition holiday palette during Christmas and I’ve been using the shadows during the holidays. Love how it’s very versatile. I can create a day to night look with this palette. Best part? It comes with a small gel eyeliner pot, one of Bobbi Brown’s best sellers! It’s the ultimate eye palette you need. Perfect for when you travel or want to keep a small makeup kit in your car.
Victoria Beckham X Estee Lauder in Java Sun
available at all Estee Lauder stores
Hi I’m Jackie Go and I have a thing for bronzers. This one in particular by Victoria Beckham gives that sensual glow. I actually even use it as sort of a contour. I love that it naturally defines my bone structure without going all out Kardashian. Heehee. Sorry Kim K! This is just something I’ve been using since I got it.
K Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner
available at all Beauty Bar stores
K Palette is a brand that will always have a special place in my heart. From their brow products to their liners. It’s actually the liquid liner that I used when I was practicing my cat eye years ago. Heehee. Eyeliners are always my go-to eye makeup and I don’t leave home without one in my bag for it instantly brightens up my face.
Sleek Matte Me in Cinnamon Spice
Sleek Matte Me lippie is one of the brand that comes to mind when we talk about wearable, lightweight, non-drying matte lippies in the market. It’s also affordable (at Php 450/tube) which makes it a fave of many and the their nudes and browns are just so lovely! You can check out the swatches I did for some of their Matte Me shades HERE. Over the holidays they sent three new colors which are all browns. Here’s my fave out of the three– Matte Me in Cinnamon Spice. It has just the right shade of brown that works well on my tan (not anymore) skin.
TenTen Polish in Eggshell
available online through https://nipponesthetic.com
White and nude nails are my thing. I like wearing it even though I know it’ll get ruined eventually with all the chores I do. Heehee. Hey I’m a girl and getting my nails done is something I like. Here’s another one from TenTen–I’ve wrote about my first encounter with this brand HERE.Here I am loving their Eggshell polish because it doesn’t make my nails yellow. It’s all 5 free so safe for pregnant and nursing women.
Posting my FOTD look today wearing these makeup products on my Instagram so be sure to follow me there! 🙂
