New World Makati has been known for the-hotel-right-across-Greenbelt. At least this is how I describe it. New World Makati reminds me of my dear friend Patty. We shared a lovely lunch at Jasmine Restaurant and it was one of the best lunches I’ve had. The food was great and the company, even better. Two weeks ago, I went back to New World Makati not to have lunch, but to do a staycation with the GJGs.
New World Makati is a deluxe hotel offering modern Oriental hospitality to discerning business and leisure travelers.
It has 584 guest rooms and suites with executive floor accommodations, dinning options, Fitness center equipped with spa & sauna and a swimming pool.
The rooms are categorise depending on your preference: guest room, residence club room and suites. The guest room is divided into three categories: Superior, Deluxe and Premier. The superior and deluxe rooms are at 34 sqm. while the premier room is at 36 sqm. All rooms have marble floors and Internet access.
Here’s a a look at our cozy premier room locate on the 12th floor.
King size bed with fluffy pillows and smooth sheet.
Work desk beside the fridge/mini bar/coffee & tea maker
A corner couch
Toilet & bath with bath robes, towels and toiletries, not to mention a hair dryer too.
Bath tub separate from the enclosed shower.
Iron and iron board, bedroom slippers and a safety deposit box are neatly tucked inside the closet.
Adjacent to it is the open closet that lets you hang your clothes above the luggage area.
My kids decided they bring their own bag whenever we do stay elsewhere ever since they got these Lily & Tucker convertible trolley/backpack.
Our room opens up to this view.
After we settled in, we leisurely walked around Greenbelt.
We helped ourselves with some pizza & pasta at Papa John’s.
They were too fond of the crocodile bench that it warrants some photo op on it! 😀
After strolling & window shopping, we went back to the hotel to swim.
No staycation truly is complete without taking advantage of the hotel’s facilities, particularly the swimming pool. Mr. GJG & I would’ve worked out at the fitness centre together but we prioritised swimming with the kids instead.
According to lil’ Ms. GJG, she loves New World Makati Hotel’s pool.
“It’s easy to go to the kiddie pool & the adult pool!”
She likes that she can easily go from the small pool to the big pool. She also mentioned how clean the pool was. Ha! This lil’ one has an opinion worth considering. 😉
My lil’ Ms. GJG with David, Manila Mommy‘s first born, who also stayed at New World Makati Hotel that weekend. Too bad Neva (Manila Mommy) & I don’t have a decent photo together.
Discussing their swim tactics. Heehee.
Our Saturday afternoon was spent eating, swimming and sleeping. Come night time, we again went to Greenbelt to have dinner, let the kids play at Timezone and just spend family time.
Lush greens surround Greenbelt as we walked around for some fresh air.
We had dinner at one of our favorite family restaurants, Mesa. If you haven’t tried it, I suggest you order their Binakol, Pork Binagoongan and Baby Squid in Olive Oil dishes. Yum!
“Mom, I love that the hotel is super duper near the mall! It’s so easy to go there.”
We went back to our room and the night lights were beaming as we cuddled in bed and watch TV until we all fell asleep. Hmmm, I wonder, why is it so easy for our kids to fall asleep when we’re checked in at a hotel? I’m guessing the full blast aircon and cozy ambiance not to mention, soft fluffy pillows can make even myself doze off in a matter of seconds. We turned in early, although for those of you who want to maximise your stay at New World Hotel in Makati, have a fun night out at Palladium Club or cap off the day at Vogue Lounge for a drink or two.
Come Sunday, it was an early morning for the GJGs. Breakfast time is the thing we always look forward to very time we stay at any hotel. We’re twice as excited to try New World Hotel Makati’s breakfast buffet at Cafe 1228 because it was our first time there.
Café 1228 offers guests an extensive buffet and interactive live-cooking stations, as well as a full à la carte menu and a children’s menu for all-day dining from breakfast until dinner. The dish choices are thoughtful and international, and include steaks and grills, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pasta, pizza, wonton noodle soup, and local delicacies. The service is attentive, and guests are served in a relaxed, contemporary style. A private dining room is available for celebratory gatherings.
I’ll let the photos do the talking. 😉
The bread assortment was nothing short of great. I helped myself with their flaky and delicious croissant topped with different The Fruit Garden jams. It was worth all the carbs. 😉
Have your eggs cooked the way you like it. Scrambled, omelette, sunny side up. Choose your pick. LOL!
Feels like Christmas with this pork ham 😀
Dimsum assorment! Honestly, it was okay. I would still go to Jasmine Restaurant for delicious dimsum.
Charcuterie, cheese & salad station.
Fresh juices and fruits.
BACON!!!
Filipino food station.
Cereal station for the kids and kids-at-heart *ahem that includes me*
“Woah, that’s a big bowl of cereal mom!”
Oven’s fired up early in the morning for a freshly baked pizza!
One of the best tahos I’ve tried in a buffet breakfast. I like how fresh it was.
Crepe, pancake and waffle toppings. Yum!
Round 1 of 9783542. Heehee.
The buffet breakfast at Cafe 1228 exceed my expectations. They’ve got the basics covered topped with some add-ons. I like the selection of food. From Filipino breakfast dishes, to Asian, and American dishes down to fresh juices and fruits. Ay lavett!
Day 2 of our stay and we’re back to swimming.
When you’re staying at a hotel, truly there’s no other reason but to relax and take this time to slow down.
My water babies had so much fun swimming. Obviously, New World Makati Hotel got two thumbs up for their swimming pool.
Eat. Swim. Sleep. Repeat.
Another hotel to consider staying at is New World Hotel Makati. It’s a great hotel not just for people who are in transit, who are visiting Manila, who are doing business in the metro, but also for families who wants to take a break from the usual despite being in the centre of the hustle and bustle of the city. Visit their website to book a stay or to know more about their offerings. Thank you New World Hotel Makati for the steady weekend for the GJGs!
